As a directory owner and active user of the platform, I’d like to suggest a feature that I believe could significantly enhance both the user experience and the accuracy of business data within the system.

Suggested Feature: Address Autocomplete During Listing Submission

Currently, when business owners fill out the form to submit or edit their listings, they are required to manually enter their address details. While this works, it often leads to:

• Typos and inconsistent formatting

• Incomplete addresses

• Non-existent or incorrect locations

• Duplicate or scattered map pins due to address variation

These issues can reduce trust in the directory’s data quality, impact SEO (especially local SEO), and create frustration for end users trying to locate businesses.

Proposed Solution: Integrate Address Autocomplete (e.g., Google Places API)

Adding an address autocomplete feature during the listing creation/editing process — similar to what Google Places Autocomplete offers — would bring multiple benefits:

1. Speed & Usability

   • Business owners can fill in their address faster with suggestions that appear as they type.

   • It reduces form friction and improves the onboarding process.

2. Accuracy & Data Integrity

   • The system would only suggest valid and structured addresses.

   • This minimizes user errors and ensures consistent location data across listings.

3. Geolocation Improvements

   • More accurate addresses lead to more precise map pin placement.

   • This benefits users searching by proximity and enhances map-based features in eDirectory.

4. Fraud Prevention

   • Autocomplete suggestions help prevent fake or non-existent addresses from being submitted, improving the credibility of the directory.

🛠️ Optional Configuration for Admins

It would also be great to give directory admins the ability to enable or disable this feature, choose the autocomplete provider (e.g., Google Maps, Mapbox, OpenStreetMap), and restrict address suggestions by country or region for better localization.
